Wayag is what the extra two nights buy.
The seven-night route can cover Dampier and Fam honestly. This nine-night loop keeps those diving days and continues north through Piaynemo to Wayag. The distance becomes a visible passage day rather than a line hidden between itinerary photographs.
You board and disembark in Sorong. There is no separate Waisai ferry booking.
The north-loop shape
The route begins with two Dampier days. That gives the guides time to see the group in current before the boat moves farther from the compact site cluster.
Fam and Piaynemo form the progression north. Day six is a passage. Day seven belongs to Wayag. Day eight uses west Waigeo before the boat turns south for final dives.

Who this suits
Book it if Wayag is non-negotiable and scuba remains the operating purpose. The trip is built for Advanced Open Water divers with at least thirty logged dives and relevant current experience.
It also suits photographers who want reef variety and accept that large rigs must fit passage and tender operations.
Do not book it for a non-diving group. The Wayag and Piaynemo leisure cruise gives surface activities control of the week. Do not book it if Misool is the fixed goal; south lies in the opposite direction.
The diving
Three dives is the planned maximum on full days. Night dives can operate where the site and movement permit. Day six cannot remain a real passage and also carry an ordinary full dive schedule.
Dampier brings the current-led ridges, pinnacles and jetties. Fam can include a broader-level reef such as Melissa's Garden near Piaynemo. West Waigeo changes the underwater character again, though site facts there are thinner.
No named site or animal is guaranteed. The guide selects from conditions, access and group fit.
Why Aljui remains an option, not a promise
The design skeleton names Aljui or west Waigeo. Research supports Aljui's macro and black-sand contrast, but the only published depth range applies to snorkel sites, not the dive site. It supplies no current or certification level.
We therefore blocked the standalone dive page rather than invent safety facts. The cruise keeps west Waigeo flexible until crew evidence supports an exact site.

The Wayag day
Day seven is for the lagoon and viewpoint. It is not described as a normal three-dive day.
Access, climb conditions and tender procedure are briefed aboard. Guests may opt out. The captain can change the far-north plan if safe access is unavailable.
We publish no Sorong-to-Wayag crossing time. The route travels through several areas and the research does not supply a primary operational figure.
Boat class
The placeholder design uses a phinisi dive liveaboard with seven cabins and no more than fourteen guests. It is a class, not a named vessel.
Cabin layouts, camera table, charging, rental sizes and nitrox system must be checked when the actual boat is assigned. We do not attach another operator's vessel features to our placeholder.
Price and exclusions
The structured range is per person sharing. It is stored in the pricing block and not repeated in prose.
The environmental permit, equipment rental and gratuities sit outside the basis. Nitrox and alcohol are explicit exclusions. Tanks and weights are included.
The authority publishes the environmental permit at IDR 700,000 for international visitors and IDR 425,000 for Indonesian citizens, valid twelve months, with under-twelves exempt. A possible separate visitor ticket remains unresolved, so we do not call that a total entry cost.
Passage truth
A night or daylight run can change motion, noise and the activity schedule. Loose cameras and equipment need securing before the boat moves.

Final dives and flights
Day nine carries the final diving. The boat then returns for day-ten disembarkation in Sorong.
Current airline schedules remain unverified at primary source, so the page does not invent connection advice. Arrive before boarding day and follow the confirmed flight interval and transfer plan.
The decision
Choose this route because reaching Wayag is worth two additional nights and a visible passage day. If it is not, the focused seven-night Dampier trip gives more compact diving.
The north loop is valuable because it admits the cost of reach.
Before booking, compare the route against your fixed priority. Wayag, diving volume and compact travel cannot all be maximised inside the same nine nights.
